Religion made an atheist out of me.

Father of 4, grandfather to 6 and friend to most underdogs, I have learned a few things in my 74 years. Here are some that come to mind right now.

By actively supporting human rights, women's issues, protection of children, etc., all of our freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights I remain a good citizen and a good neighbor. I obey laws, pay taxes and respect authority.

My heros are Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry ("Give me liberty or give me death.") Abraham Lincoln, Bill Riedler, Charles Lindbergh, Eleanor Roosevelt. my friends Bill and Bob, and Charles M. Hunter, my air force commander.

I actively condemn child rape, religious extremism, bigotry, religion in government, criminals with guns, big money politics, corporate lobbyists, killing people, and phoney baloney from any source.

My ideals include the making of my decisions based upon science, logic and reason. My daily life is guided by the inherent human sense that truth, goodness and beauty are what's right and any action that is not based upon love is wrong. I see no man as being above my station nor below it. Given the lessons of history, I intend to remain open-minded regarding the future and free of resentment or regret of what is past, ever mindful of the wisdom of the great philosophers, teachers and thinkers in all of mankind.
